5 Benefits of Having Guest Writers on Your Blog

In an earlier blog post, we wrote about the benefits of writing guest posts on blogs other than your own. The reverse can happen, as well – you may have someone offer to write an article for your blog. But why should you hand over valuable real estate on your blog to someone else. Turns out there are quite a few good reasons to do so – here are 5 of them.

Build relationships

As with writing for other blogs, allowing guest posts on your own blog opens the door to building relationships with others in your industry. Networking with others is almost always a good thing, and it might just lead to profitable joint ventures down the road.

Increase traffic

If your guest blogger has a fan base, more than likely they’ll come along for the ride when his article is published on your blog. The result – more traffic for your blog, and more exposure for you and your business.

More content variety

With guest posts, you’ll inject your blog with a bit of variety, which most of your readers will likely welcome. Different authors mean different topics, different perspectives, and different writing styles, all of which can keep your blog from becoming predictable and dull.

Increase guest blogging opportunities for you

Guest writers on your blog will oftentimes return the favor by asking you to guest post on their blog. Be sure to take them up on it so that you can benefit from the wider audience, increased traffic, and boosted reputation and creditability that will come your way as a result.

A chance to relax

Keeping up a blog is rewarding but time-consuming – you have to create quality content on a regular basis. By letting guest bloggers take over once in a while, you get a chance to relax and focus on other aspects of your business for a while.

Some bloggers prefer to feature only their own voice on their blog, and that’s fine – handing over the reins to someone else isn’t for everyone. If you’re willing to give it a go, however, accepting guest posts can be a win-win situation for everyone involved.
