Elements of a Fantastic Facebook Page

So you’ve finally got a Facebook page for your business – now to have some fun with it! You want a Facebook page that grows your fan base and keeps ‘em coming back for more. Incorporate the elements listed below, and you’ll be well on your way to a fantastic Facebook page that will boost your social presence.

A great cover photo
The cover photo is the first thing people will see when they go to your Facebook page, so be sure it’s a good one. Include faces in it, if you can – a recent eye-tracking study found that cover photos with faces get more attention than those without. Be sure to follow Facebook’s cover photo guidelines , as well, such as not including contact info or a call to action.

Consistency
Don’t just post a couple of times and forget about it – be consistent and post at least once a day. And don’t overdo the marketing content – share tips, give advice, and be entertaining, too. One marketing post for every 9-10 informational posts is a good ratio to adhere to.

Engagement
Don’t just broadcast your messages – interact with your fans. Ask questions, request feedback, and post responses to fan comments. That’s part of the fun of Facebook! Besides, it’s called social media for a reason.

Photos, videos, & quotes
Photos, videos, and quotes generate interest and engagement. Use them whenever you can.

Apps
Your apps are right below your cover photo, which means they’re highly visible to users. There are lots of ready-made apps to choose from for your timeline, or you can have some custom-made by companies such as Offerpop or Wildfire. Apps can range from restaurant menus to contests, and can really push fan engagement through the roof.

Your Facebook page is an important piece of web real estate for your business, so it’s important to do it well. Incorporate the above elements, and you can be sure that yours will shine.
