HootSuite Features You’ll Want to Take Advantage Of
HootSuite is arguably the most well-known social media management tool around, and with good reason – it provides a wealth of features for managing multiple social networks through one user interface. It’s easy to use, and can make social media management a heck of a lot easier for small businesses. Here’s the rundown on several key features within HootSuite that you’ll want to take advantage of should you choose to use it.
The Publisher feature allows you to create message drafts for any of your social profiles, schedule messages, and feed your RSS feeds to your social profiles. The message scheduling feature alone makes Hoot Suite worth looking into, in our humble opinion. With the upper-tier Enterprise version of Hootsuite you also get bulk CSV uploading and Facebook post geo-targeting (the mid-tier Pro version also offers bulk CSV uploading).
You can expand your social reach even further with the apps in HootSuite’s App Directory. Share content from YouTube, Instagram, Flickr, SlideShare, and other social networks and communities easily with the many apps available. You can even link to other marketing tools like Constant Contact, MailChimp, and SocialBro. Can’t find the app you need? Request one on HootSuite’s Feedback Forum.
Analytics and Reports
HootSuite offers a variety of analytics tools and customizable reports that can help you figure out how well you’re marketing your business in social spaces. With the free version you only get basic analytics reports, with more extensive reports available in the Pro and Enterprise packages. All reports can be shared, exported as PDFs or CSVs, and printed.
All three packages include HootSuite Conservations, which allows you to collaborate with others in real time. It’s kind of like a chat tool, and lets you communicate internally with others on your team without leaving the HootSuite dashboard. It’s in beta right now; no word yet on when the final version will be rolled out.
These and many other features make HootSuite worth checking out for use as a social media management tool for your small business. Learn more – and sign up for free – at hootsuite.com.
