Using Pinterest for Your Business.

For small businesses, Pinterest represents a huge opportunity to help build your online present and drive traffic to your your website and business. Here are three helpful tips for getting the most out of your Pinterest account.

1. Build Credibility and Expertise:

Building credibility and expertise for your business is especially critical in today’s business environment. Nobody wants to work with a business that they don’t trust! By pinning helpful and relevant content to your Pinterest board, you can help the customer become more knowledgeable. If it is your business that is helping these customers learn, you will have a much greater chance of being the one they go to when it’s time to buy!

2. Drive Traffic to Your Website:

Are you having trouble bringing in customers to your website? Pinterest is a great way to solve this problem! By posting content that your followers find interesting, helpful, and even funny, you will find that those posts will start to spread as they are pinned to other boards. This is going to allow many other Pinterest subscribers to find your business and drive traffic to your website! Therefore, make sure that you have two kinds of content pinned on your board: the fun, interesting and funny content that will bring in traffic to your Pinterest board, and also the helpful content that will build that expertise in your business and drive traffic back to your site. Also be sure to that with as many of your posts as possible, you provide a link back to your website so that these followers can get to your website.

3. Use Contests/Create Promotions:

Businesses big and small have started to learn that Pinterest is an astounding place to hold contests and promote your business through incentives and deals. Many businesses hold contests such as “Pin it to win it” in which followers pin pictures, articles, blog posts etc. in an attempt to win a prize or discount. This is a great way to create some online buzz about your business and bring in lots of new customers!
